Regarding further pics and spoilers

First off, my copyright on the new Enterprise nickname is...

NCC-1701-JJ

Secondly, I remember back when the first pics of Phlox were released, and there was a similar "It has to be a fake" attitude on the board. People were convinced it was a photoshopped Cardie or something.

bloody well looked like one.

still does, for that matter. :vulcan:
I knew the whole of ENT was a photoshopped fake. Hopefully we'll ge some real spoilers about series V soon.

I remember when I first saw Phlox on the show. My first thought was:

Michael Westmore just doesn't care anymore.

Lazy designs for guest aliens was one thing, but a series regular? I came to like Phlox a great deal, but it wasn't due to his makeup.

Which makes me curious if this film will have any new aliens and, if so, what they will look like. :)

Without even using an inside source who lives in the plumbing under the makeup chairs, I can safely say they will have lots of bumpy latex foreheads. Some will have pointy ears, others pointy other bits.

Does this make you want to see the movie more or less?

I'm going to go ahead and take:
EINO: Enterprise In Name Only

Ahem. That'll be 2.5% of your net profits, please. Contact information is in my prior post.

:p

^ Oh damn, and I thought I had scanned the thread and nobody had posted it yet.

Happy to give 2.5% of the net... Hollywood accounting style. :)

Tamek: I'd prefer some original aliens, and Romulans that look like Vulcans... The NeanderRommies never did a thing for me.

Galaxy Quest had more original alien designs than anything Trek has done in years, except maybe the updated Tholian from IAMD.

What's a "cardie?"

^
It's a nickname for the Cardassians, grey-skinned alien species featured on TNG that became a prominent nemesis on DS9. The makeup for the jawbones bears a passing resemblance to Phlox.

^"Jawbones?" Try the whole damn thing, from the eye ridges to the chin piece. The only thing that made the Denobluan makeup different was the absence of the "spoon" and neck ridges, and the skintone. Total RIPOFF.*

*Note: I liked Phlox, so this is not a bash on Enterprise. Just an observation. Any and all claims made are purely those of the poster and in no way reflect the opinions of the board, its moderators, or its bashers. If dissatisfied with post, return unused portion for a full refund. Please don't flame me.

Oh. I guess one has to care about DS9 for it to bother one, then.

Something one would naively imagine Michael Westmore did, but never mind.
