any good ones out there? I saw a few on memory beta and read about George Takei doing a couple of audio books about Sulu's adventures on the Excelsior, but I would like some recommendations. Also I like novels being in the same universe too - like not having Demora Sulu die in one book and another book set 10 years later having her captain of the Enterprise

The Captain's Daughter (TOS novel) and Serpents Among the Ruins (The Lost Era novel) are the ones I remember. I'd particularly recommend the latter. They're both set within the same continuity.

PS. Should this be moved to the TrekLit forum?

I also enjoyed the Rachel Garrett novel. I don't remember the name but it was quite good.

Why should death keep her from becoming captain? ;)

If you read The Captain's Daughter all the way through, you shouldn't have any trouble with her promotion later on.

The latest "Captain Sulu" novel is Forged In Fire by Martin & Mangels.

Great read, Forged in Fire. I thought it was about time a novel telling the details of certain events mentioned in DS9's Blood Oath came out.

War Dragons, a tale from The Captain's Table, has Captain Sulu on the Excelsior
