Rearrange TOS by "season"

People like to say the third season was the worst. So if you could move an episode from seasons one or two to the "turd season" which ones would they be? Also is there a third season episode good enough to be placed in seasons one or two?

The Omega Glory and The Alternative Factor are turd season material to me.

Nope - I wouldn't change any of 'em at all. Some of the series best happened in your "turd" season and only because each character's story had progressed to the point where the next chapter could be safely told; I don't think something like All Our Yesterdays or The Empath would have been better served by being told earlier...

I hated the finale of season 2, Gary Seven irritated the hell out of me, I'd move that into any turd list. That said, I always though series 3s problem was that it wanted to be darker but had already been established as a family show. The lighthearted elements were sidelined and the darker stuff wasn't taken to any sort of logical conclusion and just tapered off as opposed to any intrinsic badness.

Just for fun, these are 10 I'd move to "turd season":

1. The Alternative Factor
2. The Omega Glory
3. Catspaw
4. Patterns of Force
5. Who Mourns for Adonais?
6. Mudd's Women
7. I. Mudd
8. Assignment: Earth
9. The Changeling
10. The Apple

The 10 from Season 3 that had potential with a good rewrite:

1. The Paradise Syndrome
2. The Tholian Web
3. The Empath
4. Requien for Methuselah
5. All Our Yesterdays
6. The Enterprise Incident
7. Day of the Dove
8. For the World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
9. The Savage Curtain
10. Is There in Truth No Beauty?

While we're moving things around, move "Who Mourns for Adonais?" into the third season and insert "The Immunity Syndrome" in it's place. That would put "Immunity" right after "Amok Time" after going through Pon Farr Spock's psych was still cranked up, that's why he felt the death of the Vulcan starship.

Move "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" into the first season when the writing was so much better, inbetween "Charlie X" and "Balance of Terror", with a re-write by D.C. Fontana.

Bele: "Can't you see? I'm white with black spots."
Kirk: "Yes."
Bele: "Lokai is black with white spots."
Kirk: "Of course."

There are crap episodes in season 1 (Mudd's Women, The Alternative Factor, and I know some people may disagre, but Shore Leave was incredibly cheesy) and in season 2 (Catspaw, Wolf in the Fold, Assaignment: Earth) and there are excellent episodes in season 3 (The Tholian Web, Is There In Truth No Beauty?, All Our Yesterdays, The Enterprise Incident, The Empath, to a degree Day of the Dove). People just tend to exaggerate.

I like The Changeling and I thought I, Mudd was fun with is dadaist scenes at the end, and I thought The Savage Curtain was rubbish.

I'd make them stripes like Zebras, reference the old joke of whether their stripes are black or white. Then it really would be a difference only they could see.
