Rate the American Horror Story Season

We're now 7 seasons into American Horror Story, and the anthology format has really allowed the team behind the show to give us an incredible variety of stories, and also pretty major rises and dips in quality. So I was just curious how you guys would rate them. I've only seen a handful of episodes of Coven, Hotel, Roankoke, and one each of Murder House, and Freakshow.
Of those I've seen I'd definitely rate them Coven, Hotel, Roanoke. I found the first episode of Murder House kind of slow, but I did think Freakshow had a lot of potential. So far Cult is off to a very good start.

I haven't started Cult yet. I gave up on Roanoke.

My favorite season was Asylum. I liked Hotel a lot too.

I am glad that I was not the only one that felt that way about Roanoke. :ack: Roanoke began interesting based on a real historic mystery and then it just fell apart. I watched the whole season and was disappointed.

Yeah, I lost track of it like I did Coven, Hotel, and Freakshow, but unlike once that happened, I realized I really had no interest in going back. I'm planning on finally going back to the Coven once I finish up the stuff I'm watching on Netflix right now.

I would rate Asylum as my favorite, followed very closely by Murder House. After that, in order: Coven, Freakshow, Roanoke and Hotel.

My daughter is the bigger fan of it between us, and she would most likely switch the top two I have but everything else would be the same.

Last October we were in New Orleans for a cousin's wedding, and we got to see quite a few of the Coven sites. She went crazy when we got to the Buckner Mansion, which is the Robichaux Academy in the series. The saying in the series is in the sidewalk in tile, and it was really amazing to see! I liked Coven in that it touched on that area and the voodoo (odd story: when there, we went to Marie Laveau's House of Voodoo, we looked inside the store. My daughter was looking at the things there, and when I went to one area, I felt a weird chill and something pass through me. I had to go outside because it unsettled me!)

I will say that I like how Cult started off, a little faster pace than previous seasons, but still with a lot of questions to be answered. It has the potential to be a well-done series.

To me, Hotel had some great moments, but it just didn't work. It was being weird and strange just for the sake of it. I liked Roanoke to a degree, it had a fantastic idea (and I loved the twist of putting the actors with their real-life counterparts together, with something terrorizing them all) but also had more flat moments than sustained good ones.

Cult too early to tell.
#1 Asylum
#2 Coven
#3 Hotel
#4 Freakshow
#5 Murder House
#6 Roanoke

#2 Hotel
#3 Coven
#4 Asylum
#5 Roanoke
#6 Freakshow

On a side note, I always thought the Producers and cast of this series would work well (if written well) if they did a riff on The Twilight Zone. No gore, but they have a great grasp on the supernatural and ironic twists.
