Rate and Discuss the First episode of Star Trek Discovery 1x01 'To Boldly Go'!

I enjoyed this episode, they did a good job of bring the crew together. The designs and aesthetic were different than other past Trek series and looked well done. The ship looks better than what we saw in the teaser. CGI was great, also, the background score was different but pretty good.

What a cliffhanger! I can't believe they killed him off in the first episode! JC is going to be mad!

They were trying to go much to match TOS's score I think, felt a little weird.

Hated it. I knew that a musical version of Star Trek would be awful. And that song... "Let It Go". Didn't like the characters of Elsa and Anna just annoyed me.

Well, I don't know what episode you were watching, but there wasn't a damn thing that was consistent with TOS. I told everyone that Fuller was secretly making a reboot, and now I have been vindicated.

I liked the carpeting..so rich, so plush. I'd bet a million dollars there was some sort of futuristic ScotchGuard going on there. I don't care if TOS had no carpeting.

I enjoy my starship crew as diverse and inclusive. I particularly liked the "plus sized" model type in the skant.
