I agree with that. When Stargate did the same thing, they did have trouble dealing with O'Neal as a child at first, but then when he started talking like O'Neal they fell into line. If Picard is capable of commanding respect as a captain he can do it as a child. And there must be some races out there whose adults look like human children.
