What are your top 5 hand phaser designs?

1. TOS
2. TFF/TUC
3. TMP/TWOK
4. TSFS
5. NEM “dolphin” phaser

Honorable mention: TNG cricket

1. FC/INS/DS9/VOY boomerang
2. TNG dustbuster
3. TFF/TUC
4. TNG cricket
5. TMP/WOK

But I also really like the Klingon and Romulan disruptors from TNG

TOS by far
Agreed. The concept that the phaser 1 is detachable from the phaser 2 was brilliant.

(Sort of reminded me of the "Secret Sam" spy gun I had as a kid where the stock would detach from the pistol. For some odd reason, the camera was the last piece to survive the longest. I have no memory of how the rest of the set disappeared, but I think it had something to do with me shooting my sister once to many times. :wah:)

  1. TFF/TUC Assault Phaser
  2. Late DS9/Voy
  3. Disco S1-2
  4. TOS
  5. Nemesis
I know I'm being weird putting the Discovery phaser ahead of the TOS phaser, but they really nailed the look of those guns. They're like someone Tuvix'd a TOS phaser, a TFF phaser and the old The Cage laser gun together.

In order of preference:

The Cage (I really like these)
TOS
TFF/TUC
Disco
TWOK

Then there's the rest:
"And if you're interested in dust, here's a quaint little piece from the 1980s called the Dust-Buster."

TOS by far
DISCO
TSFS
TFF/TUC
TMP/TWOK
I misremembered something in my list. I didn't remember the TSFS phasers being different, so I'm changing my "TMP-TSFS" to "TWOK" just to be safe. I have the image in my head of the phaser when Kirk took dead-aim at the Ceti Eel.

I like those too, but, in my nerdery, I deemed them lasers and not phasers and therefore ineligible for my list. If I were including them, I’d probably put them right below the Disco phasers they inspired.
