Roald

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Mine:

1. Nepenthe 1x07
2. Remembrance 1x01
3. Et In Arcadia Ego, Part 2 1x10
4. The Impossible Box 1x06
5. Stardust City Rag 1x05
6. Broken Pieces 1x08
7. Absolute Candor 1x04
8. Maps And Legends 1x02
9. The End Is The Beginning 1x03
10. Et In Arcadia Ego, Part 1 1x09

i need to watch the whole series again from start,
but episode 1 and 10 comes quickly to mind, and the one on the Riker&Troy-planet.

1. Absolute Candor
2. Nepenthe
3. The Impossible Box
4. Remembrance
5. Maps and Legends
6. Stardust City Rag
7. The End is the Beginning
8. Broken Pieces
9. Et In Arcadia Ego pt 1
10. Et in Arcadia Ego pt 2

I don't remember all of them distinctly,
but I can definitely say that Broken pieces was my favorite, and Et in... 1 the worst for me, so for now it is:

1. Broken Pieces
2. Nepenthe or Remembrance
3. see 2, just vice versa
.
.
.
10. Et In Arcadia Ego pt 1

I might have to re-arrange/re-rate some of these; a “first impression” vs. “last impression” sort of thing, but this is how I ranked them, based on the rating I gave each episode, and how I felt they compared to each other if I gave any episodes the same rating:

Ep 5) Stardust City Rag - 10
Ep 7) Nepenthe - 10
Ep 10) Et In Arcadia Ego, Part II – 10
Ep 6) The Impossible Box – 9.5
Ep 1) Remembrance - 9
Ep 8) Broken Pieces – 8.5
Ep 4) Absolute Candor – 8
Ep 2) Maps and Legends - 8
Ep 3) The End is the Beginning – 7
Ep 9) Et In Arcadia Ego, Part I – 7

I think I overrated "Et In Arcadia Ego, Part II" and underrated "Remembrance". I'd swap the ratings I gave them. But that swap wouldn't change the average for the first season overall because the numbers would still come out the same. I give the first season of Star Trek: Picard an 8.7, which I'd round up to a 9 if asked.

6.Broken Pieces

8.The End Is The Beginning
9.Et In Arcadia Ego Part 1

I don't know where to place the finale. I liked parts of it a lot but I enjoyed the final two episodes the least out of the whole season. There are moments in the finale that surpass better episodes but not as a whole.

1) Nepenthe
2) Broken Pieces
3) The Impossible Box
4) Remembrance
5) Absolute Candor
6) Maps and Legends
7) The End is the Beginning
8) Et In Arcadia Ego Part 2
9) Et In Arcadia Ego Part 1
10) Stardust City Rag

The end was a letdown in the context of the wider story, but fine enough on their own. Stardust City Rag was the only episode I outright disliked.

I like the character episodes, so -

1) Broken Pieces
2) Nepenthe

After that, Remembrance was a fine premiere,.The Impossible Box was good as action goes, and I'm OK with the finale and the caper. That gives me six strong episodes. The only one that I found to be meh was Ex in Arcadia Part 1, but the payoff was solid (for me) so fine. I very much liked this show.

The Impossible Box (Episode 6)
Broken Pieces (Episode 8)
Absolute Candor (Episode 4)
Nepenthe (Episode 7)
Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2 (Episode 10)
Remembrance (Episode 1)
The End is the Beginning (Episode 3)
Maps and Legends (Episode 2)
Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 1 (Episode 9)
Stardust City Rag (Episode 5)

Since it was basically a 10 part story it's hard for me to rank individual episodes, but loved the full season. Surprisingly I liked slower paced episodes (1 through 4 and 7) better.

1. Napenthe
2. Broken Pieces
3. Rememberance
4. Et in Arcadia 2
5. The Impossible Box
6. Absolute Condor
7. The End is the Beginning
8. Maps and Legends
9. Et in Arcadia 1
10. Stardust City Rag

And if I put Children of Mars in there somewhere, it would probably go in the 3 slot.

I need to rewatch it all before I rank but looking at everyone else’s, man is Stardust City Rag divisive!

The only comedy episode. I usually don't watch those with Trek, but this one was redeemed for me to being "pretty good" because it had something of an edge to it, and because of Seven. I can see why people would both enjoy it and pan it. It certainly had a different tone than the other episodes.

I have rewatched the first two episodes several times. The first makes me laugh and the second features the Rikers. I enjoy the Romulan cultural tidbits and world building and like the bits with Laris and Zhaban and Narek and Narissa and their ex-Borg aunt. I thought the bit with the android world ended up being a little weak.

The "DS9-like comedic caper" aspect of the episode would have worked better if it wasn't framed by a brutal murder on each end - and if the actual quality of the dialogue was a bit higher.

It honestly reminded me of fanfic.

I can understand that take. At any rate, I thought the high point for the series -- and one of the high points for all Trek -- was the four-episode sequence from 5 through 8.

1) Caper
2) Action
3) Remembrance
4) Character Development

The four episodes were REALLY different in their construction/tone, with the possible exception of the caper they succeeded very well on their own terms, and they advanced the arc narrative. I thought that stretch was fantastic. Then a bit of a let-down, the final 2 episodes felt rushed. Almost as if a 12-part series got cut to 10 shows.
