Rank the Indiana Jones Films (Spoilers for Indy 4)

Raiders
.
.
.
.
.
Last Crusade
Crystal Skull
Temple of Doom

I have to agree with those who have said that Raiders is in a class by itself. It's a chapter of cinematic history. The sequels are entertaining footnotes.

1. Raiders Of The Lost Ark
2. Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade
3. Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom
4. Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

It seems the shorter the title, the better the movie; Let's just hope he never makes Indiana Jones And The Haunted Cavern Of The Undead Cannibal Headhunters. Number five would go to
pretty much most of the overly edutainual Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, and honorable mention for Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark, just on general principle. Also, I've already copyrighted edutainual, so don't even think about it.

1. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom-best comedy, action, characters, plot

2. Raiders of the Lost Ark-Very good action and dynamics between Indy & Marion plus Belloq
3. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull-Weak, uninvolving writing, LaBouf's such a stereotype and Marion disappoints. Points for Blanchett though.

4. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade-Stretched out, too PC, lackluster action and story, thought Elsa and Connery were pretty annoying.

1. Last Crusade
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
3. Temple of Doom
4. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Suffice it to say the gap between the first two and the last two is considerably bigger than the list might seem to indicate ;).

Raiders----by far the best, in my book, and one of my favorite films of all time.

Last Crusade--recaptures some of the Raiders spirit. All the guys are back together, with Sean Connery thrown in for good measure.

Temple of Doom-- a silly romp with some dark moments. Has some great action, and a few nice character bits.

Crystal Skull--a fun romp and a great beginning. A bit of a weak ending to the main plot though. Still, the last scene in the church was nice.

Hey! Don't trash Willie's scream. After all, it gave us the best attack in Lego Indiana Jones! :p

Just how, exactly, is Last Crusade "PC"?!?!!

^Young Indiana Jones being a Boy Scout and retaining the "This belongs in a museum" attitude (he had that motive, but better articulated as well as other motives, such as greed, in the other films), the film has none of the stereotyping of the other films, essentially forgives Elsa because she's a woman, the guardians are forgiven because that's just their beliefs and you've got to respect that, the filmmakers seem to take the father's point-of-view and present Indy as juvenile in comparison.

1. Raiders
2. Last Crusade
3. Tie between Temple and Crystal Skull (saved from fourth place by the reappearance of Marion)

Crusade may be better, but I tend to be very loyal to first movies (especially the original Star Wars & Raiders). I do like the occasional sequel to a movie, but it is always hard to beat a first time outing for me, after that seqels are more like comfort food to me...I know how they will make me feel.
