Random Trek "Problems" That Bug You (and that you can't let go!)

Agreed. Tom Hardy's full lips and Patrick Stewart's thin lips meant that they didn't look much like each other.

Because it's a good shorthand for the viewing audience.
Plus we'd already seen a young Picard briefly in "Tapestry", and Tom Hardy's version looked nothing like him.

A little thing. In SNW 3.10, Pike is in his weird pretend life thing and it's the day of his accident. His uniform doesn't match the ones in Discovery season 2's flashforward! I know it's a TV show with limited budgets etc but it annoyed the hell out of me.

Same with the Klingons having hair in the war flashbacks when Disco made a point to say they shaved their heads for the war.

Which wasn’t even in continuity with their own show, as the flashbacks to T’Kuvma’s childhood showed that Klingons were still hairless even before the war.

Or the DISCO writers just couldn't be bothered to keep track of their own show.
Honestly, I suspect there was a mandate from up above after the Disco S1 backlash for Klingons to have a more traditional appearence going forward, and it was implemented irrespective of it being a flashback or not.

Yes that sounds very dumb but remember also there were mandates from up above for Superman to fight polar bears in an (unmade) movie just because.

somethign something, the polar bears got into the Fortress of Solitude and ate one of those weird kryptonite varieties and he has to fight them to prevent them from harming an inuit village and to get the crystals back

i'll be honest, while i loved listening to kevin smith talk about superman lives, i never really understood what the problem was with supes fighting a giant spider.

Well it's the Jon Peters-ness of it all. Like on its own it might be fine and even fun but it's part of all the other issues with the film.
No flying.
No costume.
Must fight giant spider in the third act.
Who the fuck is Kal-El?
Brainiac must fight polar bears in an action beat.
Need gay robot sidekick.
N̶e̶e̶d̶ S̶u̶p̶e̶r̶m̶a̶n̶ t̶o̶ f̶i̶g̶h̶t̶ C̶h̶e̶w̶b̶a̶c̶c̶a̶. Okay not that one.
Need cute pet so they can sell some more toys.

I read a lot of comments on the section 31 issue. Trying to be polite no the whatever that was they released. The concept of section 31 was great as a mysterious group hinted at and whispered in the books and later shows. However shining a light on a dark group takes away the mystery and kills the intrigue.
I'm still not understanding what they were thinking about with the Star Fleet Academy thing they had a great one started and deliberately killed it then give us that last whatever it was. What drugs are the Disney executives on?
