Raised by Wolves

Starbreaker

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Raised by Wolves
centers around "two androids — Father and Mother — tasked with raising human children on Kepler-22b after the Earth was destroyed by a great war. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task."

The project was created by Aaron Guzikowski, who is probably most well known for writing the film Prisoners. The first two episodes are directed by Ridley Scott, who serves as an EP. I've seen the first two episodes now and really enjoyed them. It's really incredible that this show was even made. It feels more like a novel than what you would get in a traditional sci-fi show. I'm seeing comparisons to Prometheus and Alien: Covenant but I think that's a little unfair seeing as how Scott isn't listed in any creative context.

I highly recommend this so far. I'm going to be anxious for episodes when they start dropping weekly.

I was starting to wonder if I was the only poster watching this.

This show came on right after Lower Decks had finished last Thursday. I hadn't heard of it before, but the "previously on" seemed interesting. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to watch it at the time, and I prefer to start a new series at the beginning anyway. If it is really that good, maybe I'll have to check and see if CTV Sci-Fi has it available for streaming on its website.

I think I'll wait till all the episodes are out, and binge it during lunch for 10 days. :)

I'll wait for all to be out, Started first episode, interesting premise, and another "Android" series with Ridley Scott.. Whats up with his fascination with androids?

I understand he wants it to be an "organic Construct" not just a bunch of transistors and wires, but hey, be like Steven Seagull and be a 1 trick pony..

I watched the first episode. Seemed rather bland and predictable.
Are you kidding me? The first episode hooked me in. I was caught up in a range of emotions. And for me, it was completely unpredictable. The trailer peaked my curiosity because I couldn't figure out what it was about. By the second episode, the story really folds out. Ridley Scott has managed to do what evaded the makers of Picard, explore that complex relationship between androids and humans in an authentic way.

I'm sorry do you really predicted that
Mother became a WMD and destroyed a starship with the last remnants of humanity saving few children???
If this is the case, why are you writing here and not getting a job in Hollywood..?

I saw the last episode. The reveal of the back story of the Mother was interesting.

Mother was a Necromancer, which based on the last episode, was built by the Mithraics and later captured by an Atheist Scientist. Good chance there might be another Necromancer lying around in the shipwreck of the Mithraic ark, waiting to be activated.

Well, when she began rampaging through the ship, I did figure that she would eventually find children and decide to spare them.

Also, those spoilers were in the trailer so not huge surprises.

Overall, I think it's dull.

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but every time I pass by this thread title, I just keep thinking of the U2 song:

I actually didn't see the trailers for the show. All I heard about it was that it was a new sci-fi show and a vague plot description saying the show was about androids raising a human family.

I went in completely cold today. On episode 3. Undecided. Some things I really like.....some things I’m confused about, but pressing on and seeing what happens.
