Ragnarok on Netflix (not the Marvel movie)

I discovered this gem over the weekend and really enjoyed it.

Set in a small town in Norway the new kid in town discovers he is changing and the family that owns the towns largest business may not be what they seem.

90210 meets Northern Exposure with the big scoop of Norse mythology.

I remember seeing some stuff for that when they first started promoting it. It looks interesting, and is probably one I'll check out once I go back to Netflix.

I just watched the first episode--I enjoyed it and will be watching the rest of the series. Good thing Marvel can't copyright Norse mythology.

It reminds me a lot of Percy Jackson though, right down to the main character having ADHD and Dyslexia Is that something that Riorden picked up from a different source?

Percy Jackson is a great comparison, I love the Percy Jackson movies.
But this has a darker setting and the bad guys aren't as cartoonish.
Evil dad really needs to try and keep his shirt on, LOL.

I watched it a month or two ago and liked it just fine. It struck me how much his brother came across as Loki, even the physical resemblance to Hiddleston. Looking forward to more episodes.

I am watching the fourth episode now. This is a really well done series--I have been watching with English dubs because I've been doing stuff on the computer while I've been watching--and the dubs aren't so bad.

Really, people who might be hesitant to watch and international series should not be turned off--it is one of the better genre shows Netflix has produced.

I didn't look for the dubbed version. I read the entire series. I wish I had, because like you I like to do other stuff with the TV on in the background. But the subtitles made me pay more attention.

There are a lot of really cool looking foreign series on Netflix. There are a couple that I've
I've signed back up for Netflix, and I'm hoping to check some of them out. Green Frontier and Luna Nera are two I've found especially intriguing.
Green Frontier is a Columbian series which follows a detective who goes into the Amazon to investigate the murders of group of women and ends up getting involved with a native tribe. There's a second storyline set 50 years ago, that ties into what's happening today.

Luna Nera is an Italian series about a group of witch in the 17th Century, during a series of witchhunts. The only place I've found a trailer for this one with subtitles in Netflix itself.
I've also heard a lot of really good things about the German series Dark, which starts with an investigation into missing children, and from what I've read ends up completely bonkers by the end.

Yeah, the film was good. I like north and other dark mythologies too. As for me, they’re more intriguing and have some special thrill. I switched on such series and movies; I think my favorite genre is dark fantasy

Dark is pretty trippy. Watched that one a year or two ago. Pretty good stuff.
