Radical Relaunch

A long while back I did a TNG Relaunch that was rather fan-wanky and lacking in good story. I now have that good story and I need a little assistance from the uberfans out there that know way more than me about the Trek universe.

I will be using Memory Alpha and Memory Beta to get some of what I need, but I want to write a serialized TNG Relaunch. The basic premise is that there is a war going on between the non-corporeal races in the galaxy and us mere mortals are often the pawns in that war. The plan is to link together all of the "gods" and non-corporeal races in the five televised series, and perhaps the ancient races too, and form a coherent storyline for the Enterprise-E.

I'm compiling the list but any additional help would be great.

I think in ENT, the only non-corporeal races that showed up where the aliens in The Crossing and the Organians in Observer Effect.
The Xindi thought of the Sphere Builders as sort of gods but I'm not sure they actually qualify.

I'm not sure they would count as 'gods' but you have the super races like the Tkon and the Iconians from TNG. There's the 'progenitors' from TNG's episode "The Chase" I believe. Also aliens like Nagilum (sp) and the Crystalline Entity.

By 'non-corporeal', Brother Benny is referring to races who have evolved beyond the need for physical bodies.

But I'm not exactly sure what a war between them would be about or what they would be fighting about? Most wars revolve around ideology or resources. Neither of which could be important to races who have evolved beyond the need for resources and no longer have a fear of death.

Mortal wars are fought over ideology and resources, who knows what non-corporeals would fight over. Maybe they have resources we don't know about, or maybe it is just over whether to interfere or not, like Babylon 5 and Stargate: SG1.

Thanks for your help. Some of those will definitely be included, but not all.
