Patrick "Dirty Dancing" Swayze, died of cancer today. He was only 57 years old.

His passing, and some of the images in slideshows on the web's news coverage of him, made me think.

Forget about the new "reboot" movie. Forget about TNG. Let's go back in time to the 1980's and talk about the "mother of all reboots". Let's assume that Hollywood had instead revived TOS, but as TOS, with new actors playing the exact same roles.

Patrick Swayze in the late 1980's/early 1990's as Captain James T. Kirk.

Think about it.

I think, if it were true to the original, it would've rocked the house! :)

R.I.P. Patrick Swayze You will be missed,:( He was also great in the North and South, Book 1 and II mini series.:techman:

Guys? I don't mean to be super-Vulcan about this, but while the man was a talented actor, he had NOTHING to do with TOS, the subject of this forum.

Such expressions regarding the loss should really be posted elsewhere.

It's a bit of a stretch to try and turn it into a TOS discussion.
