R.I.P Miramax

Disappointing but then Miramax hasn't been a relevant studio in a long time either.
 
This is interesting. Since, I don't see them using the Disney label on anything not family oriented it looks like the company is out of making films for grown ups.

After the Weinsteins left to form their own company, Disney hasn't really known what to do with Miramax. Granted, they've still continued to release good films, but it just wasn't the same.

They can always slap on "Touchstone" or "Hollywood Pictures" on any "grown up" film they release.

They still have released several critically praised films over the past few years: Doubt, Adventureland, The Queen, No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, etc.
 
Okay, I'll amend it to largely irrelevant then. The handful of films they've released in the past few years is not like it used to be.
