Quick Sketch

Here's a sketch I whipped up. I've been trying to experiment with digital sketching. I am supremely jealous of Vektor's ability to make some pretty cool digital art. I decided to draw a familiar subject and so here it is, the Botany Bay:

I dunno. It's still pretty primitive. I kinda like the charcoal sketch look of it. It didn't take very long at all. About 15 or 20 minutes. For a first time with a new technique I think I did ok.

Comments?

I'd need to lash out some serious money on a pad before I could try this, and then I'd need to lash out even more on drawing lessons as I'm crap at it. That's one of the reasons I took up Lightwave, I couldn't draw for toffee but still wanted to make stuff. You need skills no matter if it's digital or pen & paper drawing, and I'm flailing in the wake of you guys.

That's awesome. :)

I used to do pencil drawings back in the day... until I discovered Blender. :)

Keep that up, and you'll be where you want to in no time. :)

Yes, nice! Very nice. I always liked that look, with the charcoal and pastels...(memories of art classes in college) One good thing, you don't choke on the spray fixative in the digital realm:) You should find some "fingerprint" PS brushes, and put some light smudges for added realism. :)
