Quick question Dazzler v. Banshee.

Is Dazzler immune to Banshee's full range of power. For instance if he screams loud enough and directs the sound wave tight enough, his scream can liquify a solid object. Could Dazzler absorb that much sound?

I don't see why she couldn't, since her power is the ability to absorb sound and turn it into light. However, there should be an upper limit to how much she can absorb, if there is, can Banshee exceed that?

I wasn't going to originally, but I thought it might be fun, so I'm adding a poll to this. Who would win in a fight: Dazzler or Banshee?

If it's just a question of powers, I agree and I vote for Dazzler. But I would point out that Banshee is older, probably physically stronger and has a lot more combat experience than Dazzler does. If he can somehow make it to the second round, my money's on Banshee to just simply punch her out.

How close could either banshee get to Allison's absorption perimeter, what is her absorption perimeter, before they lost the ability to fly?

I agree that, in just a fight, Dazzler would get her butt whooped.. in a physical fight. she is not that strong, despite being generally athletic. I've seen her give up fights having been punched once.

I call myself a Dazzler fan, however,m precisely because she was a reluctant hero who has very human weaknesses, ranging from lack of confidence (despite being confident on stage) to a having girlish strength levels that would be a liability in a fight against villains.

If Dazzler is absorbing that sort of energy, exactly what sort of output with his light show are we thinking she'd suddenly be capable of?

Well, you and I have the power to consume food, but I don't think I could take in 500 burritos at one go, so I would image that there's a similar parallel to Dazzler and how much sound she can deal with at one time.

Then the question becomes, can she release light as fast as she can absorb sound? If she can, it'd be one hell of a bright light. If she can't, then like Sebastian Shaw, she can be overloaded. I still think she'd win, but playing devil's advocate is fun.

Just a minor nit-- Banshee isn't a "he" right now. After Sean Cassidy was killed, his daughter Teresa, formerly Siryn, assumed the name. However, as Teresa has the exact same powers that her dad did, the effect on the question at hand is moot.

As for said question, I think Ali wins in a one-on-one against either Banshee.

I was going to ask about Siryn, since her powers do vary slightly from Banshee's (she can alter moods and perceptions with her vocals to an extent, which he can't do).

Her dad could have been able to do that, but he just chose not to discuss how he got his Friday not strange with his daughter.

Besides, wasn't there a fight between banshee and black Tom over some girl in the classic X-men back up stories? I mean compared to me, most men should be a walking smarmy squirt of ghb, but if Sean was clouding the minds of evey woman he met until they slept with him, it's not really fair for his wing man at all is it?

Starfox was sued in She-Hulk for serial dateraping because his powers work about the same.
