Quick question about youtube and Facebook

This might be better in the sci tech forum but ti am posting it here because I don't know if many people visit that forum. If the mods want to move it than I apologize.

I have Firefox, which I run at full screen. Now as you know when people link to youtube video on Facebook, it becomes embedded, and when you play it , it becomes a bit larger so you can see it.

this phenomenon didn't use to happen, but now, when the video expands (but I'm still watching it on Facebook) it expands to a size slightly larger than Facebook is able to display so they have silly scroll bars on the bottom and right side of the video that allow to scroll, like a centimeter, to see the rest of the video. Does anyone else have this problem?

You'll probably have best luck with this question in Misc - most of the board's techies swing through it.

I don't have this problem. I'm running Firefox 9.0.1 on Windows 7 Home Premium. It will help us to help you if you tell us what OS you are using as well as what version of Firefox.

I can suggest that you make sure you have the most up to date versions of both your OS and Firefox.

This thread is fine in MISC since cultcross is correct. Also, you may see a few people here that have solutions for you that don't post in Sci/Tech as this is a busier forum.

Yep, that happens to me, too. I'm using Safari.

To clarify, are we talking about clicking play while on Facebook and leaving it at the embedded size? Or are you hitting the expand to full screen option within the embedded youtube link?

to clarify, the video when its on Facebook, is very small. When you press play it expands to a size com0perable to when you play a video on YouTube without it being full-screen. Like YouTube, you can make it full-screen or can leave it play while seeing the rest of your wall around it. I'm talking about that latter size. It used to be that it fit nicely on the wall, but now it seems slightly too big for YouTube to handle it once you press play, so there are scroll bars on the bottom of the site that only scroll a centimeter or so. It hardly makes a difference but it looks ugly and always makes me feel like there's something wrong on my end.

Not sure how helpful I can be then. I'm using XP with Chrome for the most part. On FB, when using the embedded youtube video, it does much as you describe, however on mine, it doesn't get any larger when play is clicked. When expanded to full screen it fits perfectly.

Why not just click "Watch on YouTube" in the lower right corner? Nothing requires that you watch the vid on FB, with or without scroll bars.

I run Chrome on Windows 7 Ultimate. I can't say I've ever experienced the problem you're describing. I never get those scroll bars you're talking about. Sorry, wish I were more help...but I'm not a techie anyways so my knowledge on these matters is kind of limited.
