Questions about Regeneration (2x23)

In Regeneration, there is a brief scene (shortly after 22:00), in which a semi-assimilated Tarkalean removes a panel, and injects his tubules in some (energy?) (holographic?) (computer?) grid next to a monitor. We see the entire grid shimmer and transform from blue into green, displaying borg nodes, and some tubes and even larger macroscopic borg devices coming into existence and pushing forward, out of the plane of the grid. This all happens within 1.5-2 seconds at most.

So, what is happening here? I know the Borg are masters in assimilating technology, but that quickly and easily seems a bit ludicrous to me. I could even still imagine a computer being taken over in that timeframe, but are those nanobots capable of constructing macroscopic devices within a second? Or are they simply directly replicated into existence, and if so, where does the replicator come from?

Moreover, if they can assimilate that quickly and easily, why even bother assimilating separate panels? They already had assimilated other panels (it seems), and since I'd think most or all technology is connected, why not simply let the infection spread within a few seconds to the entire ship ?

(I did want to illustrate this and found an online video of the scene, but as I suspect it isn't legit, I can't post a link here).

Borg nanoprobes are very quick and efficient. They can take over any computer system OR living creature in seconds.

In fact it'd probably be easier in ENT's time frame, what with the primitive technology of 22nd-century Starfleet.

and not to mention that these borg were coming from the futute from 24th century. Maybe the borg in 22th century could not do it so quickly...

Maybe.

Might be the Borg can walk faster than the nanites can spread, or maybe they inject in multiple sites in case of local defensive measures.
