questions about federation dreadnaught class STO

Sibo191

Im a VA so new items are few and far between until they STO releases some new material. I have been considering buying some of the "bonus" items from the cryptic store, and one of them is the Federation Dreadnaught.

Can anyone tell me anything about it pros and cons, is it worth it, will it make difference, etc.

additional info, Starfleet engineer VA rank, space traits include effecient captian, elusive, and a some more stat modifiers I can't remember right now, like parts of the breen and borg packages.

Hmm lets see.

Pro:-
* Spinal Phaser Lance - With phasers fully specced it'll deal 20000 damage to an unshielded target. Best to use on a downed shield face.
* Can equip Dual Heavy Cannons - The only Federation cruiser to do so.
* Shares the same skill set as the Assault Cruiser, meaning you can switch ships without having to respec.
* Cloaking Device
* Same bridge officer station layout as a the Assault Cruiser.

Con:-
* Bad turnrate - Worst turnrate for a tier 5 cruiser.
* One less tactical console then the Assault cruiser.

I personally like it and think it's great for PvE. It's turnrate can give you problems in PvP though. Certainly, as far as PvP is concerned, I wouldn't equip it with dual heavy cannons.
