Are there any audio productions set in the classic Trek era that use authentic sound effects? Thanks for any replies.

You raise an interesting point. The bulk of audio dramas are NOT TOS-era. I just scanned half my list of nearly five dozen audio productions, (http://startrekreviewed.blogspot.com/2009/06/247.html) and TOS-era audio (called 'golden age')is the exception. However, you might be able to locate TOS-era dramas (and check their sound) by scanning that same list.

The only ones I've listened to are Star Trek: Excelsior (a Parsec Award nominee!) and Star Trek: The Section 31 Files. Both series are excellent.
