hello every one, i have not ben on here for some time now. here is my question, how many of you do know the full lay out of the star ship enterprise of the TOS ship?,

i am about ready to do this but i do need some help of this. can any one help to draw out the out line of the star ship for me on paper. you can get a hold of me thru this web site and i can give you more info of where to mail the papers to. i am going to build a star ship out of TIN METAL the model will be 55' foot long by 25' wide by 15' tall. i am still working out the plans i got but if any of you realey like this idea. i am still working this out. i will check this site out next week mon, wed, fri, sun.
i will update this later.

Get yourself a superior camera.
Buy a airline ticket to Washington D.C.
Take a taxi to the Smithsonian Institute
Walk to the basement gift shop.

As I understand it, the original 14 foot Enterprise shooting model from the 1960's is still on display there. If your intent is to construct a model featuring only the exterior of the ship, that would be your most accurate source of information.

If on the other hand you want to also have a complete interior to your creation, I'm sorry but there is no definitive layout to the entire interior of the TOS era Enterprise. The book The Making of Star Trek does have a (somewhat vague) description of what is supposed to be on various decks according to Roddenberry. And the Franz Joseph Booklet of Blue Prints while admittedly being a interpretation on his part aren't a bad place to start.

If you are going to proceed with this, please occasional post pictures of your work in progress, I for one would enjoy watching the build.

Good luck.

:)

I got your friendship request by PM (said yes), but there wasn't a message attached. There should be no way for you to have any of my E-mail addresses.

No offense, but if the board if passing out my personal E-mail I'm going to be royally pissed.

A 55-foot-long Enterprise made out of tin would require a lot of tin. I'm looking forward to seeing it, though.

Kenny, you're never exactly clear even when people try to help.

Can I ask you a simple question? What do you plan to do with this 50+ foot scale model?
