Question for Shat fans ~ Official fan club?

Hi, this is my first post so I hope I'm posting in the right place.

My question is : Are any of you guys members of his official fan club? (This one: http://williamshatner.com/ws/fan-club/join-fan-club/)

Is it worth it? Do you pay just once or do you have to pay every year? Have you met him?

I love him but I'm not made of money. Just trying to figure out if I should do it or not Thanks!

Seriously, I love Bill Shatner, but there are better ways for me to waste my money.

Financially? The $24 does get you an autographed photo of Mr. Shatner which will probably hike in value after he dies. I'm too old for the Ferengi in me to enter upon this speculation.

If you attend a convention where Shatner autographs things you will pay a minimum of $64.00. 5 years ago that was the price I had to pay, believe it or not almost everyone in the convention hall paid.

Oops! By "worth it" I didn't mean financially at all. I guess I meant, if any of you have joined this fan club, do you feel like you got some intrinsic value out of it, like are you glad you paid the $24 or was it "There's $24 I'll never see again "

I'll elaborate on what I was wondering about:

-There's a private message board and FB page? Has anyone been on it, is it a good active community? It would be nice to have somewhere to just wallow in Shatness with likeminded people or discuss his career away from the eyes of Shat-haters, lol.

-"Opportunity to register for bi-monthly drawings for prizes and memorabilia"? Sounds fun, what kind of stuff?

-"Information on how you can join us at our annual members-only Weekend get together." Does this cost a fortune? What does it involve?

Is it personally hand signed by Shatner? And not a employee or a machine?

Cheaper than a convention.

Autographs were like 100 bucks last time I saw him, maybe more? He is more expensive to get an autograph with than any other guest. If that is an actual autograph and not just a copy of an autographed photo that would be very good value.
