Question about nuBSG

Cobalt Frost

Captain
Captain
When Adama refers to himself as "Galactica Actual", is that from a real-world military? IIRC, nuBSG used "Action Stations" instead of "Red Alert"; "Action Stations" comes from the British navy, I believe. Thanks for any info!

In a military context, "actual" is a call sign modifier used to indicate that the commanding officer is on the radio, not a subordinate or radio operator. For example, a request to speak to "Bravo Six Actual" is a request to speak directly to the commander of Unit Bravo Six, not their staff or assistant. This is often used for important, urgent, or sensitive information that the commander needs to relay personally.
