Always loved this bad. Hope this concept album is as good as it potentially could be. I like Mindcrime 2 quite a bit, but the original was fantastic, and the sequel was shooting itself in the foot trying to follow it up. I think a fresh new concept is what's needed. Tate is still one of the best singers in rock, even though he can't hit the notes like he used to, and, as a result, his style has changed radically over the years. I honestly missed the screams, the drive and the passion but his "new" voice is still reflective and emotional. What I like about his style is that he sing the words how he feels them, whether or not it leaves the constraints of the music being played behind it.

I don't know if I'll pick this up or not. I used to follow every Queensryche release, but Mindcrime II left me so flat I don't have much enthusiasm for the band anymore. The album itself wasn't terrible, but the very concept draws inevitable comparisons to the original, which was a classic.

I saw them in 1995 on the Promised Land tour. They are a great live act.

I'm shocked they're still around! I saw them 20(!) years ago opening for Metallica where there short set was drowned out by chants of "ME-TAL-I-CA! ME-TAL-I-CA! ME-TAL-I-CA!". Granted I wasn't there to see them but it probably wasn't the best showcase for them.

Mindcrime II is OK, but it left me rather empty. I also don't like how Tate's vocals are drowned out by the music in most of the songs or that he sings some lyrics too fast.

I wasn't as blown away by Mindcrime II as I was by the original, but it's Queensryche, so I'll be there. Been there since the EP, why stop now. :)

Saw them on the Empire tour when they did the full-on version of Mindcrime live, and just saw them on the Mindcrime II tour. Great, now I have an urge to get my Livecrime DVD out tonight. :)
