Man I love QR. Of course something has been lost in the years since Empire and Mindcrime, I mean Tate, still a great singer, doesn't have near the texture or power his voice used to have, but I'm glad they are still making powerful music that's not particularly meant to be poppy or spoon fed to the masses, like new album "American Soldier," about what it means to be in combat. Meh, I always thought they were just another one of those '80s hair-metal bands that were particularly pretentious with their "concept albums." I'll be skipping this one.

You thought wrong. Operation: Mindcrime may very well be one of the greatest albums of the last Century.

As far as bands who do "concept" albums, Queensryche is right up there near the top, with Pink Floyd and Alan Parson's Project.

You thought wrong. Operation: Mindcrime may very well be one of the greatest albums of the last Century.

No kidding. To this day I blast the hell out of that CD when I need an adrenaline surge. My one complaint about Mindcrime 2 was that Tate sings too fast and the vocals are washed out by the music.

I wouldn't go that far.

They've had some good stuff and I'm certainly a fan, but they do tend to take a little too much from the 80s sound.

And I thought Pink Floyd was the Alan Parsons project?
