Quantum Slipstream???(USS Infinity)

Alright.. I know I'm new and most of you all don't exactly like Star Wars, but I have thought of a ship that is 20 times bigger than the Super Star Destroyer Executor It is called USS Infinity NX-(insert Infinity symbol here) One of these days I plan to create a mod of the Big I for STL (Star Trek: Legacy) and put the hurt on some poor Imperial arses...

There are Imperial ships in STL? Are you more interested in doing visual details like modeling, or just more of the tech aspects? If it's the former, this might be better suited to the Art forum.

This does sound like it should be in the art forum, but on a tech subject...

I do like Star Wars as well as Star Trek, however one thing in SW always kinda put me off. It was the whole "Massively Uber Huge Super Ship" theme that was all over it. Some of the potential sizes I've heard people talk about even put the massive size of the Borg Cube to shame. Ships that size seem like they'd be problematic at best to keep in an operational state.

Why does a ship need to be 20 times bigger than a Super Star Destroyer? Is it some kind of intergalactic colony ship with a half million families living inside it for a few decades? A replacement for Earth Spacedock?

The Executor was gigantic because it was a massive weapons platform designed to strike fear into enemies of the Empire and as a monument to the Emperor's power, is Starfleet into that kind of thing?

Not a fan of "fanwank" designs. No offense, but it's the laziest kind of ship-building. "MAKE IT HUGE AND GIVE IT 1000 TORPEDO LAUNCHERS!". Boring, and a needless and risky waste of resources from an in-universe POV.

While I *LOVE* huge ships in SW. However, in ST, only super advanced races should have them. Like the Doomsday Machine, the Whale Probe and V'Ger... Otherwise, K.I.S.S.
