Punisher: War Zone opens nationwide tomorrow, December 5th 2008. It is the third film about the titular anti-hero of Marvel Comics legend (the first starring Dolph Lundgren in 1989 and the second most recently starring Thomas Jane and John Travolta in 2004). This film, directed by Lexi Alexander and written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum (the writing team behind this summer's Iron Man), this bold new iteration of the popular comic-book character stars Ray Stevenson (HBO's Rome) as Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher. Dominic West (HBO's The Wire) stars as mobster Billy Russoti, who is permanently disfigured by The Punisher and returns to cause havoc amongst the mob families of New York under the moniker "Jigsaw". Having accidentally killed the partner of FBI Agent Paul Rodiansky (Colin Salmon, from the Pierce Brosnan James Bond films), The Punisher must deal with a newly formed "Punisher Task Force" headed by Rodiansky and take down the villainous Jigsaw.
