BBC Three are showing 3 pilots, one will be selected to become a series. They did this a few years ago and Being Human was the pilot that got picked. The first one is online to watch now and will be broadcast next Thursday night. They want feedback to select which pilots goes to series.

First up is Pulse, a supernatural horror series.

A year after her mother's death, Hannah resumes her training at one of the country's top teaching hospitals. She is soon terrified by strange visions and the theatening behaviour of her ex-boyfriend and star surgeon Nick and wonders if she has come back too soon. But beneath the hospital's reputation of medical excellence she discovers a secret network of dangerous experiments pushing back the boundaries of science.

It's here if anyone wants to watch... UK only I'd assume.

I thought this one on this week:alienblush: I will watch it after the secret diaries of miss Anne lister has finished on BBC 2.

Oh man! that's a nice method of Pilot testing.

Show them online and see how well they do...

I'd love to see this model adopted in the States.

There are so many pilots that never see the light of day because they never get picked up. It'd be great if they got a chance to at least be seen by more than test audiences.

I used to work in Market Research, so every year about this time, we'd have 20 or 30 new shows to test and see which people responded to most.

It's funny, the only thing I really miss about that job was getting to see Pilots the public at large never got to see. (Some of them were horrible, mind you... But there were several that had great potential that just got dropped)

Oh well, let us know which one gets picked up in the end.

^They are airing them on TV, just premiering them online. This is the second time BBC Three has done this the first time it lead to Being Human being picked up which has turned out to be really popular. Channel 4 has also done it with comedy pilots and have picked up 3 shows PhoneShop, Campus and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.
I wish they'd take this approach more though.

Watching it now. So far, I'd describe it as "Very, very boring." Meh.

Not only was it agonizingly boring, but it was... just... nonsensical. I didn't understand half of what was going on. Being mysterious doesn't work too well if you just threw in random shit and expect the audience to sit there and care.

Yeah, underwhelming I'd say. Pity. I understand you'd want to hold some stuff back for a possible series, but that was probably too much. Especially the ending, and the library scene as well.

There's no way this could ever be judged properly just on that - as Squire of Gothos said, you'd need at least another two.

Boring, clichéd, over-the top music and cheesy, predictable 'scares'. A swing and a miss for BBC 3. And if you're going to set a drama in a hospital, some basic research might be nice. The stars are med students starting their first clinical (after three years??)... so why do they keep being referred to as 'interns'? a) That's a US term, and b) its equivalent to an F1. And are they going to be on surgery for good? Long rotation. Almost "ER" long.
Also, doctors don't wear white coats any more, and even if its set in the 'past' for that single bizarre reason, students wore short coats to distinguish them.

I enjoyed it <shrug>

Thought Claire Foy was very good- especially after playing a completely different role in Going Postal (from my POV) only last week

I watched it for 2 minutes, got bored and skipped through the episode pausing from time to time...

watched the last scene, and decided I'm not interested in whatever this is trying to be.
