Pulmonary Check Up

Sounds like this guy is on top of things and invested in helping you; I hope he can come up with some effective treatments.

I also had an appointment with a nephrologist a few days ago. When I went for my blood pressure check up they found protein in my urine, which has been there for years but to be on the safe side my GP sent it off for further tests. Then out of no where I received the appointment with the nephrologist.

When I went he seemed confused as to why my GP had sent me, as was I to be honest. He said the protein in my urine is expected with my condition and it wasn't especially high either, also my kidney function was fine in the blood test results he had done.

He said just to be sure he'll send me for a kidney scan, but he doesn't think there's anything to worry about at all.

Always good to mark something on the "stuff that still works" list - so I hope the kidney scan doesn't show anything peculiar!

Yeah a urinary test for proteitn loss and kidney scan is pretty much a standard test with cardio and pulmanry related issues. They put me through them a few years back when looking for causes for my high BP and I've recently had the urine test again.

^Yeah, I had tons of tests when they were looking for the cause of my high blood pressure. They do the urine test every 6-12 months, along with regular kidney and liver function tests, but this is the first time they ever sent me to a nephrologist.

I had a lot of trouble with reflux and acid pain a few years ago. The GP will try a few things if your antacids don't work. I ended up with a proton pump inhibitor which transformed my life.

I'm on proton pump inhibitors myself. I've barely suffered any acid in the year I've been on it. The doctor told me to increase the dose of it to see if it helps with my cough. Which it does seem to have, I'm coughing less despite having a cold at the minute.
