PS3 Blu-Ray usability?

Hands down, the PS3 is a better movie player than the Toshiba HD-A3 (I own both), ignoring the obvious movie format issue for a moment. :)

As people have already mentioned, a big shortcoming is the need to buy a bluetooth remote, which means your regular universal remotes (like the Harmony) won't work without tracking down a not-easy-to-find-or-cheap IR adapter. You can also use the PS3 controller but that tends to confuse people not used to game controllers.

Agreed. I use the PS3 for all DVD, BR and divx movies. My HD-A3 is used solely for all the piles upon piles of HD-DVD discs I've been scooping up at bargain prices :D

Yeah, I do as well. It's become my standard player for almost everything now, and with the bluetooth remote, it's just great.
Mine came configured to autoplay, so I turn it on by inserting the disc, it then starts up and goes directly to the movie, and I'll use the bluetooth remote which it always connects with the instant I push a button on it.
funny thing though, it's bluetooth, yet I still find myself pointing towards the screen. Heh, old habits die hard I guess.
