Project: Potemkin "Care for a Lift?"

At least your studio isn't 50 feet from the Amtrak line or 20 feet from the motorcycle gangs passing... LOL
LOL!! I was there for part of the "Origins" shoot, and yeah, there had to have been a motorcycle convention nearby that week! The running joke was "QUIET ON THE SET!! CUE THE MOTORCYCLES!!"

I had the fortune of getting a walk-on part as the Cage-era navigator. Before one take, as we were waiting for the motorcycles to pass, I locked and fired phasers as they went by! Mr. Gerrold appreciated that!

It's called Americade, and it takes place every year for a week in June.... and we always make sure to schedule the shoots to coincide with it...

... or so claims the sound engineer! :guffaw:

Fortunately, we only have to compete with the good ol' boys drivin' their muffler-less pickup trucks through a residential neighborhood at 50 mph and dogs barking throughout. Even mine get into the action.

At our ready room set, it's 20 yards from the Liberty Expressway so every once in a while, you'll hear an 18-wheeler going by.

I can't wait until we start filming on location outside to see what's going to bother us at the river, at the canyon and in the field.

Randy

Randy, you need a dog from the Mirror Universe. Theoretically his barking should cancel out the other dogs. ;)

I thought about putting one of the beagles on the set. Having it appear mysteriously and having Captain Grigory looking at it and asking, "Now where did that dog come from?"

That would be a lot like the scene in "Buckaroo Banzai" where Jeff Goldblum (as "New Jersey") walked through a machine room where someone had placed a watermelon and said (on camera) "What's that watermelon doing there?" It was an ad-lib, but they left it in anyway!
