Profiles in History October auction

TowerPower

Commander
Red Shirt
A new catalog in pdf format is available from the Profiles in History website. It is auction #37.

http://www.profilesinhistory.com/

The Star Trek lots are on pages 161-169. Also included are items from other sci-fi shows. Of particular interest is a Matt Jefferies concept art piece of the bridge. There are also some uniforms and props. The bridge art is dated 1964, but appears to be later to me... ?

Here is the pic of the bridge:

Interesting! It does look a bit later. But I liked that Wilma Deering costume from Buck Rogers on the next page!

Yeah - I saw that one too. Never saw that particular pic of her before and I have almost all the Starlog issues..

There's some interesting gems all throughout that catalog - lots of scifi stuff. I had to laugh when I saw the glasses of Sam Witwicky's great-great-grandfather from Transformers in there! Looks like they never sold on e-bay!

Also look on pages 366-368. They've got stuff from Houdini, a pair Amelia Earhart's goggles, Neil Armstrong's post-splashdown baseball cap, and one of Grissom's flight suits. Apparently these are *real* items, not Hollywood props!

I am fairly sure that is a conceptual piece done for the proposed but never filmed "Starship" series that would have utilized the famous Matt Jefferies ringship design.

Wow! Take a look at that TOS woman's Science jumpsuit. It looks mint, if I had a Trek loving girlfriend (and money...) I would so buy that!

The uniforms and the coloring all look like the conceptual art for that series. In any case, there's some erroneous information in that catalog. For example, the pants said to be worn by Shatner in TOS are actually pants constructed for Phase II, the buccaneer cuff is larger and has a split in the middle -- a design change Theiss made only for the aborted 70s series.
