Predictions for the final scene...

Klaus

Vice Admiral
Admiral
So anyone want to take some melange and see the future? Tell us how you think it will all end, either in general or specific terms...

Here's mine:

After seeing some of the surviving characters literally or figuratively ride off into the sunset [I'd like the last person we see to be Hugo, living at home quietly with his mom and dad], we get a pullback reveal showing the numbers inscribed on something which makes us jump up and yell WTF??... fade to black.

But then I'm evil.

I don't know how it will go down, but I'm betting to mirror the start of the series, the final shot will be a closeup on Jack's eye as it closes. Whether that means death or just sleeping, I couldn't tell you.

100 years later, Ben and un-Locke sitting alone on the beach, watching as the next group of bickering unfortunates arrive.

JACK on the island, watching a new group of "LOSTIES" arrive, either by boat or another plane crash (that would be hokey, I prefer boat) or something. Basically I think, somehow, it alludes to Jack being the leader of the "New Others" - consisting of some of our known Losties.

A time-shift throws the Losties into the distant past, where they learn that Jacob's cabin was actually built by Edward James Olmos.

One of the characters sitting in the hatch, alone, hitting the button every 108 minutes to keep the world safe

(last night I did some thinking and came away with the theory that you can trace all the craziness of the last few years to Desmond blowing up the hatch, getting unstuck in time, and saving Charlie's life long enough to disable the underwater station. the hatch explosion 'changed things' and screwed up the timeline in many different ways and the reason they had to come back was to fix it)

Locke/MIB - "The Island, numbers, and monster will now be explained. They are all..."

[CUT TO BLACK] (Sopranos style)

Yeah the show will probably definitely end with the close up of an eye.

Paolo wakes up next to Nikki after having an apparent nightmare.

Paolo: "I just had the most f-ed up dream. We were on an island and we got buried alive."
Nikki: "It's nothing, now go back to sleep."

Fade to black.

** Lost fandom literally explodes **

I think it's a given that it will be a pan out type shot. Maybe ... Jack thinks he's home, working in a hospital, or something, and pan out to reveal he's actually still on the island.

Seriously though, I'd be surprised if Jack wasn't the focus on the last scene.

Hurley and his mother living quietly. Never liked the idea of the dad showing up now that mom and son have money and we can all be one big happy.

I'd have kicked him out on his ass in less than 5 minutes.

The camera zooms into Jack's eye as he lies dying (how/why/what TBD), and as we delve deeper into the blackness of his pupil, the screen begins to lighten, we see clouds, and the clouds part to reveal a tropical island far below, with the glint of some kind of metallic wreckage on the beach.

Fade to black: TO BE CONTINUED...

:rommie::rommie::rommie:

I hope it's Sayid and unLock sitting on the beach as a space plane crashes on the island. :)
Okay if that's the way you want it. The sea is red, the sky is yellow, the jungle is blue and the people milling around the crash site are a lovely shade of chartreuse.
