Maybe its just me
The way pre-9/11 Afghanistan was couldn't help but remind(s) me of the planet Nebulos from the G1 Transformers cartoon.The episode was a trilogy called The REBIRTH, G1 TFs final 3 episodes of it's 4th final 3-episode “season”.
The Taliban/al Qaeda reminded, still reminds me tad, of The Hive, Nebulos's tyrannical ruling dictators.
The Northern Alliance was,is reminiscent of the Nebulan rebels, whom were fighting against The Hive & it's tyranny and machines.
I guess bin Laden & Mullah Omar share the “Lord Zarak” spot. Well, really more likely just bin Laden as he was Afghanistan's real ruler. Omar was more like Vorath or Blowpipe.
The NA's “Duros's” & “Recoils” I can't provide
as NA leadership's names aren't household ones.
