A blog isn't a newspaper, newspapers usually back up their stories with facts. At least they used to.
 
I am surprised about these reactions as it is simply a fact that the coup leader received American military training. That weapons and fighters in the Libyian war are not contained to this very country after the fighting is over is pretty natural. In how far this coup corresponds or conflicts with US interests or not is hard to tell.
If you take away the stupid headline there are just facts and at the end some speculation in the article. Clearly takes somebody with more knowledge about the Maghreb to make more than an educated guess about the background of this coup.

Which isn't saying much. MOST of the world's soldiers have received some form of training from the US.
 
The little Kissinger in me views it has highly likely that a coup down there goes hand in hand with the interests of a major player, be it the French (if they still have interest in the region) or the Americans.
Power politics has always existed and always will. It is not something which creates a moral erection for me.
German banks had economic interests in Yugoslavia? So what, it was still right to stop Milosevic.
Somebody probably has some economic interests in Libya and perhaps also neighbouring countries? So what, it was still right to stop Gaddafi.

Pretty much all of our allies have at least one American soldier hanging out for training exercises. You as well say they're read books made from trees.

Without a mainstream news source, it's just spam and paranoia. You're going to have to supplement your post with actual data.
 
Here is a NYT article. It is a bit thin on background yet paints a more nunanced picture, claiming that the flow of weapons from Libya went not into the hands of the new junta but rebels which made the military take over.
Anyway, I am still surprised about a certain naivety concerning power politics. It's the oldest game in history and it hasn't stopped just because we are democratic.

The direct or indirect support of foreign governmental changes has been fairly constant and independent of which President sits in the Oval Office and which party controls the Congress.
