wondering if anyone out there could give me a rundown on which post-enterprise novels I should read, and which ones I should stay away from. Looking to get into the romulan war stuff

Start with The Good that men do and that's the first Novel in the Rmulan war series. It's really good I'd read all of the Romulan war books because they are mentioned in the Ris e of the federation books .Patterns of interference mention Trip's experience during the Romulan war and the aftereefects of things he experienced behind enemy lines

I'd avoid the Romulan War novels. I thought they were terrible. I've read the first Rise of the Federation book and that was much better.

Never bothered with the Romulan War novels, the author is a hack. Skipped them and went straight into Rise Of The Federation. What you need to know is explained in those novels. Just don't bother with anything Michael Martin wrote. After he stopped writing with Andy Mangels all his solowork for Star Trek was sucked in my opinion.

The Good that men do I liked THE best of all of the Romulan war novels. I'd read that one and then the Rising of the federation books. I really like Uncertain logic and Patterns of Interference

Another vote for just skipping over the Romulan War and jumping straight to Rise of the Federation.

I really enjoyed The Romulan War novels honestly. I'd give them a try especially if you like The Good That Men Do.

The books related to the Romulan War are from 2009 & 2011, however I would suggest reading from The Good That Men Do up through The Romulan War (there's a lot of Trip stuff that you'll miss if you don't start at TGTMD).

Also, with the Rise of the Federation books, the author, Christopher Bennett, is a member of these boards. He's quite a nice guy and a talented writer.

STE: The good that men do (2007)
    STE: Kobayashi Maru (2008)
STE: The Romulan War: Beneath the Raptor’s Wing (2009)
STE: The Romulan War: To Brave the Storm (October 2011)
STE: Rise of the Federation: A Choice of Futures (June 2013)
STE: Rise of the Federation: Tower of Babel (March 25, 2014)
STE: Rise of the Federation: Live by the Code (Star Trek: Enterprise) (2016)
STE: Rise of the Federation: Patterns of Interference (Star Trek: Enterprise) (2017)

Crap - I did... a copy paste mishap. Good Series - and I actually have read up until Uncertain Logic. I have Live by the Code, but haven't found time to start it. I need to put it higher on my To Do list :bolian:

Was planning on starting with The good that men do. This period in Star Trek History seems the most interesting to me at this point in time.

I highly recommend all the ROTF novels, they are very good.

Better, IMHO, than the actual Romulan War novels, which seem to jump forward in the action at random moments. There must have been a shit-ton of material edited out of them (in fact I think there were originally supposed to be three novels in the series - and it shows).

And speaking of the ROTF novels, it would be seven shades of awesome if the next one in the series spells out LMAO. :guffaw:

For whatever it's worth, the version of the Romulan War in the novelverse is totally different to the one in the 150 Years book.
