Possibly OT: Art in Home Office

I started a discussion over on the TrekLit board about a part of this, but decided to head over here to add a different element to it.

My wife and I are building a new home, and we will be moving in in December. I would like to decorate my office with some SciFi themed material.

I definately want some of my favorite novel covers (Songs of Distant Earth, Inherit the Stars) to be a part of the art, but I was also intersted in a few other things, and I wondered if anyone here could help me with some considerations...

1) A custom take on the Constitution class, something along the lines of what Dennis Bailey did with the Constitution class (I think he called it the Phoenix) but in "Cage" era spikes and with a custom name UES Constellation NCC-1017

2) A good image of the Discovery from 2001: A Space Odyssey

3) A good image of a spiral galaxy from a nearly polar perspective.

I've been thinking about using a service to create painting-like versions of these subjects and then printing them on canvas, and hanging them in the office.

Has anyone done anything like this? Any suggestions?

Astronomy Picture of the Day has plenty of real live (false color) images of galaxies and nebulae in high res.
