Possible Star Trek XI Uniforms

So, I was bored tonight, and decided to make my own updated TOS uniforms, as they may appear in Star Trek XI. I really liked the field jacket of the Cage, and combined that with the coloring and style of the TOS uniforms. So here is what I came up with...

I really like those! Nice work!

The smaller insignia seems right, given what little uniformage we have seen thus far... but given the limited number of pics we have seen of anything that might come close to a uniform (and then usually in Academy pics), well... I doubt we have any clue what they will really look like.

One thing I would like to see, since they are, apparently, doing TOS uniforms as the base (at least on ship) is the more rounded collars of "The Corbomite Maneuver" as opposed to what wound up coming down the line. They just looked better. A jacket, like you have designed, over a black mockneck would work well too.

I really dig those. The only thing I'd add would be some zippers here and there, which I think would still be in use by the 23rd century.

Zippers aside, that's brilliant work.

And please let's not forget that Ops and Science/Medicine had different emblems in the badge. No reason to change that.

Here are some pics of my favorite ST uniform, one that never saw the light of televised day...

the only thing I don't like is the lack of a black collar on Rand's tunic, which I would change. I'd have enlisted folks with a department colored collar and officers with black.

I'd also add some colors, white for medical, red for engineering, olive for security, and gray for ancillary services (food service, recreation, chaplain, janitorial, etc.) I'd keep the smaller insignia that these uniforms sport, and would only use the stylized 'star' insignia in the delta-shield. Color is enough, IMO, for distingiushing divisions.

I also like the rank braid, solid form, on these uniforms... though that level of shine is a bit glossy... something more akin to military rank braid would be better.
