Spoilers Possible Series 13 Changes

Gibraltar

Rear Admiral

One of the rumors swirling around Series 13 is that the TARDIS exterior may be changed moving forward. Anti-Law Enforcement sentiment appears to be behind the consideration of changing the craft's exterior. No word on if a repair to the TARDIS' chameleon-circuit would allow for multiple exteriors or just a new standard of some kind.

After so many decades, I'm not sure how this sits with me.

the the show isn't even Doctor Who at this point, so who cares what the Tardis in name only looks like? The show doesn't have a doctor, why does it need a tardis anymore? I'm sure they'll just reveal that the Tardis was actually the child's mother all along, and turn into a humanoid like I think they did in some shity 8th doctor book back in the day. Either that or they'll just destroy it and have The Entity formerly known as the Doctor trapped on Earth, probably London area, for a few years.

I'm sure whatever they do I'm sure whatever they do will be the absolute worst thing possible. That's the only thing consistent about the show that stole the Doctor Who branding, its always the worst.

All that said, I'm pretty sure the website you linked to is notoriously inaccurate, so take anything with a grain of salt.

If true:

Who complained about that? Seriously. Who. Complained. About. That. It's not like people think the Doctor is a policeman or something. I mean, the BBC now owns the rights to the look of the Police Box, because the Tardis is that iconic.

If true, though. And, considering this is from We Got This Covered, that's a gigantic If.

We Got This Covered is a clickbait site that reports bullshit non-stop, often quoting itself as its source for an article. Don't believe a single thing you see on their site.

Granted, both sites are citing the same Youtube channel for the rumor, so take that for what it's worth.

I believe them that channel about as much as I believe the whackos who insisted that CBS had ordered an immediate halt to all production, pre-production and development of Star Trek shows, only for CBS to announce that Discovery season 4 had been ordered like two days later.

I can see a temporary change for a single episode for any kind of story telling reasons, but no more than that.
If that got leaked, i's easy to see how it got blown out of proportion bya clickbait site, including the bullshit reason.

I'm going to wait until this gets backed up by a credible source before I react to it. However:

So, in other words, something like in Attack of the Cybermen? I agree, that seems more likely, and I wouldn't be surprised if everyone is conflating that.

The mods should close this bunk thread and find a way to ban links to We Got This Covered from being posted.
I'd seen that rumor posted to multiple sites and thought I'd put it up here for discussion. I'd no prior knowledge regarding the reliability of any of the sites in question. My apologies if the topic isn't worthy of your time, but I hardly think it's necessary to demand that the thread be closed.

This isn't a 'bunk' thread and I'm not trolling. You can research my previous posts on this board if you're in doubt of my intentions.

Since this is from We Got This Covered there is almost no chance of it being true, but the idea is ridiculous. The TARDIS has never been associated with law enforcement, so the idea that they would change it for that reason is really hard to believe.

It's bullshit. It's something comes up every few years, and they even did it in 1985 for one story as a cocktease.
What does seem to be true is there's only going to be 8 episode and one of those might be the festive special, because covid regs are slowing the shoot, so the choice is longer shoot or fewer episodes and they went with option b.

Don't bet on the number ever going back up, since 6 or 8 seem to be the regular lengths for BBC one hour dramas.

It’s always disappointing to see a cut in the number of episodes but in the current climate, I’m glad we’re getting anything. Personally, I’d prefer 8 good episodes (assuming that they are good) than 13 so-so ones.

I think you mean't doctease.

Aye thang yaw. lol

It sounds like this is just because of the pandemic, so hopefully we should get more episodes after this series.
