Possible Plot For Star Trek XI

What if this isn't a time travel episode and takes place entirely in the 24th Century...

Where the scenes and characters from the past are played out on the holodeck where they flash back and forth between some of the time periods in the 23rd Century.

Actually I believe it will be a Docudrama. A behind the scenes look at the origins of Star Trek. Showing the filming of the two Pilots. So Bruce Greenwood is actually playing Jeffery Hunter playing Captain Pike. While Chris Pine is playing Statner playing Kirk, etc.

At this point, this would be the only take on Trek that would be truly interesting.

You have to keep in mind they already tried this on TATV, and I have never seen an episode get more ripped apart by the fans... I'm not sure whether or not cranking the idea up to 2+ hours would make much of a difference.

Of course, if they need to ignore the fans to make it a good movie, then it could potentially work

A while back, I read somewhere of a suggestion for a 40th anniversary TV special in which a documentary would be done to chronical the battles of the Federation in a style done on the History Channel or A & E. Interviews would be done with the actors in character telling about their experiences. We might see Archer recounting battles from the Romulan War, Kirk talking about battles he had with the Klingons, Picard and Janeway telling about the Borg, and maybe some reports from Sisko during the Dominion War. We might also see O'Brien talking about the Cardassian War and Kira discussing the Occupation of Bajor. Scenes from episodes and movies could be used while reinactments would add to the documentary as well. Too bad this never happened.
