Could this be the ENTERPRISE leaving a Star Fleet HQ in Space??

Shades of a Franz Joseph Design being inserted right under OUR noses??

The layouts seem very similar to me.

If so, for this Classic Treker, it's Uber-Cool!

(The more They change... the more it stays the same!)

cool! great catch... i used to read that book like the bible when i was a kid

Heh... I've worn out four copies. One Original and three reprints.

The first, of My two Original '75 copies (with the hard cover), is the only one I've never opened.
I got it on my 17th birthday.:vulcan:

It's in my safe-deposit box, sealed in a ziplock bag with a few of those moisture absorbing pouches along with an unopened set of FJ's Enterprise Blueprint's.:vulcan::vulcan:

I cherish them more than anything else in my vast Trek Collection (over 40 years worth.):vulcan::vulcan::vulcan:

yeah... Trek-Nerd from the get-go here. :rommie:

Yep, FJ's Starfleet Headquarters was my first thought upon seeing that shot.

It just occurred to me, the guy that designed the new Enterprise said something about "...Referancing a lot of previous designs..." ( a VERY paraphrased quote) in a response to Rick Sternbacks' comment's about the new 'E'.

Perhaps the FJ Tech Manual was one of those references?

I no longer have the copy I bought at the university book store the day they arrived, but I do have one with the original black vinyl slipcover that may be the second or third printing.

The new station does look something like a cross between Franz Joseph's Star Fleet Headquarters and Andrew Probert's orbital station from ST:TMP.

That would be great, especially considering how shabbily FJ was treated later on...

I'm a proud owner of the blueprints and manual, quite dog-eared and beloved.
