I greatly enjoyed both "George and the Dragon" and "Gods and Monsters." It was a tough decision, but I decided to pull the lever for "George and the Dragon." It was such a wild take on both ST and the Japanese monster millieu that I found myself drawn in.

The quality level of this month's entries was so high I sat here staring at the choices a long time before casting my vote.

Tough decision but I went with Myth and Mayhem. I think TLR really did a good job building tension and creating an atmosphere of terror rarely seen in Trek.

I could not in good conscience vote for myself, and besides, not only was Myth And Mayhem a literally terrific story, but the contest got me to write a piece I had been planning since Ancient Destroyer's original run. It was a very personal piece as well, having as much to do with the Superman of my early childhood (in reruns) as it did daikaiju eiga.

TLR, I could easily see MaM as a modern remake of the original Rodan, and I liked the touch that maybe this world had once been Planet X from Monster Zero.
