Thank you Capt. I'm very relieved. I apologize because I was posting in a hurry and thought I would search for a favorite heroine or two instead of read all the choices. In any other circumstance it would actually be a great advantage of the poll that there are so many, but that isn't even the full pack!
On this list, I think maybe Gamora. But it's not because of the greenness!
Lacking isn't the word I'd use. I would use the word insane however.

grr went through my choices twice to make sure I was happy and I still missed Black Cat and Dazzler. I also confused Diamondback with Sharon Carter... I know, I know, where do I go to turn in my card?
I haven't heard of at least half the women on that list. When was there a female Hawkeye? 
Madame Masque and Medusa. Surprised you don't know Medusa; she's not A-list, but pretty visible nonetheless.
Edit: To Bad Bishop: the original Hawkeye was killed in Disassembled. When the Young Avengers were formed, Kate Bishop more-or-less forced her way onto the team by virtue of her athleticism and marksmanship. When it became obvious that the Young Avengers would persist being heroes despite the disapproval of older heroes, Captain America gave her the name Hawkeye as well as his bow as a hommage to his departed friend. (The resurrected Hawkeye has since met Kate Bishop and decided to let her keep the identity as he became the new Ronin, so she's actually the 'current' Hawkeye.)
