Please suggest a few episode titles for me

A friend wants to come over for a three episode TNG viewing. He loves TNG but hasn't seen it in years. He loves the episode Darmok.

For those of you who know TNG far better than me, can you suggest a few more episodes that a lover of Darmok would enjoy?

I'll suggest "The Defector," "Disaster," and "Starship Mine." All deal with Picard in difficult situations, like in "Darmok." The first has him dealing with a possible war with the Romulans. The second has him dealing with children. The third has him single-handly defending the Enterprise from terrorists.

Well, if it's the conflict of Darmok he likes, then Season 3's "Allegiance" is another one where Picard deals with Aliens in a mysterious situation, or if it's the excitement of it, then Season 7's "Gambit" the two part episode, with Picard & Riker under cover on a mercenary ship, would be a good choice, or if it's the interaction with a new culture, then "Who Watches The Watchers", from season 3

Also, you can never go wrong with "Sarek". Anybody who ever liked Star Trek or knows anything about it, is going to like that one

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm going with "The Defector" and "Darmok" plus one more still to be defined. I suspect my friend likes "Darmok" because it is an example of really smart and clever Star Trek, and I put "The Defector" in that category. I don't think his favorite episodes have anything to do with Picard in particular.

Unless I get a better suggestion I'll add "The Inner Light" or possibly "The Masterpiece Society" or "Sarek."

I would not have thought of "The Defector" or "Sarek" so thanks for that.

I love Darmok too, it is definitely on my favorites list. Although they are great episodes, I think i would pick The Inner Light over Masterpiece Society or Disaster.

I agree with Admiral Shran, "Starship Mine" is a great Picard episode and it has some very funny Data moments as well.

Whatever you pick, let us know how the viewing goes!

Great situation to be in. Must be awesome to be wondering what the best episodes are to sorta promote the show.....personally, I would throw in "The Wounded". I love that one.

I started this thread.

Had my Star Trek TNG party a few nights ago. Two friends came. Both are TNG fans but hadn't see the show in years. One had never seen a TOS episode, and both wanted to see one. They went for City on the Edge... They were a bit disappointed as there was way too much comedy in it for them (their opinion.)

One friend had the opportunity, in advance of the party, to briefly review all TNG episodes on-line. He selected four that he wanted to see, and he told me to "delete" the worst one. He selected:

Elementary, Dear Data
Remember Me
Clues
Darmok

I "deleted" Elementary, Dear Data

A good time was had by all.
