Playmates Toys

A colleague is gonna take as stab at it. "Bajoran" Seska's neck plug cannot be pulled out.
In the Worst Case Scenario, I'll just glue Cardashian Seska's head to her Starfleet uniform body. Her redemption will not be denied!
The body should be able to be opened at the seams. Then it should be easier to get the plug out.

I have that type one phaser from Playmates. I remember looking at it and finding how fucking big it was to be silly. Why is it so large. Can't be the batteries.

gotta love MR. The day after sending out an email telling us the figures we preordered last year will be almost a year late. They send out a pre-order email for the next two figures.

Pike and Tendi. Scheduled for release July ‘26. But probably won’t actually be released until Sept ‘27.

Because they charged the same as for the other phasers so they made it the same size.

Also the electronics. The speakers were huge in those toys.

I took Michael's advice:

Saw a new art supply store, checked it out, and went home with 3 different metallic silver markers.

My first full gadget repaints! Inserts of the original colors are from mindless shelf indulgence (https://www.mindlessshelfindulgence.com/star-trek-action-figure-archive/), cause I of course forgot to take pics before.

Metallic silver is the most useful color, it works great on any Starfleet equipment and blade weapons :D
The worst one was Janeway's laptop, it just wouldn't cover it well. Her purple phaser and PADD were less of a problem. The blue and black rifles and orange knives look so much better now :D
Hey, I know I am late but I wanted to tell you good job! And also wanted to show off mine that I did some time ago.

I have two sizes, for the 4,5" Playmates and also the 9" Playmates.
Nothing could save that blackbird wing of Chakotay though. That is not a wing, that is a pile of pine needles.

That's what I ended up doing to my Rikers to make S1 Riker. Both necks were just stretching instead of coming out, so I split the torsos. Much easier to also switch arms and hips that way :D

Saavik came with the nice "heavy" tricorder and the WoK communicator, and thanks to your reminder, this time I took pics before painting them :D

Mister Kunut, a Kazon serving as Starfleet officer aboard USS Voyager from 2371 to 2377.

The head transplant with Tuvok’s body worked after opening the torso. However, the Kazon neck or connection must still be to large because Kunut’s torso cannot be closed and springs open when he tries to turn his head.

I’ve already got an idea what do with Tuvok’s head.

How did you open the torso?

Happy St Paddy’s Day!
(Memes not created by me).

How did you open the torso?
Boiling water followed by carefully spreading the seams with a thin knife. EDIT: worked today on Lt. Commander La Forge/Tuvok. (Art by Martin Frei).
