Pissed off, need to rant!!

Mage

Vice Admiral
Admiral
I ordered the entire Vanguard series 9 days ago, with the fullest intent to start it as soon as I finished Paths Of Disharmomy, which is almost. I was supposed to recieve all 5 books tomorrow.
Suddenly, today I recieved Reap The Whirwind. Kinda odd, so I called customerservice for bol.com. They told me there was a glitch in the system, and the remaining 4 books will be shipped out tonight, to be at my doorstep tomorrow. This was this afternoon.

Now, 15 minutes ago I suddenly get an email stating that the remaining books in my order are not available and that bol.com hopes to be able to send them to me no later then april 5th.

WTF!! They told me earlier today all books should be here tomorrow. And if they were out of stock, couldn't you have told me 9 days ago, when I placed the order. And how come they suddenly find out they are out of stock the day before they were supposed to ship them out??

Meh.... I know I'm going to recieve them anyway, even though it's later. But I'm just ticked off right now, I was really looking forward to Vanguard. :(

The real irony here is that Reap the Whirlwind was the one they actually had, where that is the one that is hardest to find.

I am in the same situation about Paths of Disharmony with this seller on Amazon called allnewbooks. They were acting like it was my fault that the book wasn't sent out to me. I ordered this book in early Feb and so they agreed to send me a second book after I asked for a refund.

I hope it's not gonna go that far.

For $40 US, I could have all five Vanguard books delivered to my Kindle in less time that it takes to write this email. I'm terrified that this particular drug is the way to go.

Good luck with that Mage. In my experience, once Bol starts to mention delays like that there' s a good chance the date will either expire without news or with a message saying "we're very sorry but we cannot deliver this item". They probably don't have it in stock and are now depending on their supplier to deliver. I had this with a CD some time back, and nearly 2 months passed before they finally admitted being unable to deliver it.

In most cases they're OK, but because of this kind of behavior I never pay up front with them. Too much hassle if you want to cancel your order and delivery times vary a LOT for most less-popular items.

Hm..... let's hope not. Atleast I didn't pay up front.

Go figure. Just got a textmessage from my girlfriend. Parcel arrived for me this afternoon with the remaining four books. Weird....

Glad this had a happy ending!

I had a similar experience with an out-of-print DVD collection I was trying to find for my parents at Christmas; I ordered it from pretty much the on seller who had it at a reasonable price only to never get a response until two weeks after the deadline with a "sorry, we don't have it." Fortunately, a local Barnes & Noble in their hometown still had it!

this is why you need to either get a NOOK or a kindle e device they are so worth .
and you don't have to put with all that bull $#1t . I have all five vanguard books on
my nook its great you ought to invest in one seriously.

I once ordered a "Gotham Central" hardcover from an Amazon seller who sent me the wrong one, and when I informed them the immediately shipped me the correct book for free and told me I could keep the other one! I left some good remarks for that one, let me tell you!
