Not much of a teaser, is it?

IT teases that there is a new movie, but it doesn't really tease the movie itself. As much as I didn't much care for the second and third PotC movies, I can't deny that Jack Sparrow is an enthralling character or that I am very interesting in seeing more.

I kinda' thought that was embarrassing for Johnny Depp.

For all the anti-commercialism of his youth, he really has turned into quite the shill, hasn't he?

The book by Tim Powers was great. I hope some of it survives being turned into a PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movie.

That was fun. I enjoyed all three films in the series, so I'm really looking forward to a fourth.

Oh I'll be there the first day it opens! Wow, almost a whole year

Johnny Depp doing an 'in character' promo is no different than the actors doing the interview circut (which he doesn't really like) to promote a film. He loves playing Jack, so hardly 'selling out' :techman:

Agreed, I greatly enjoyed the novel. It'll be interesting to see how much McShane's Blackbeard is similar to the Blackbeard in the book.

Or to the real, historical Blackbeard, for that matter.

Meh.. He seemed to be stretching for things to say...

As far as the movie goes... No Orlando? No dice!

    ok.. Just kidding.. :)

Pirates of the Caribbean is a great series, though.

In his youth he made good movies. He still makes good movies.

I trust Johnny to make good movies.

I love the first movie, I enjoy the second and reasonably like the third, but the first is absolutely without a doubt one of my favorite movies (it's at #11 on my top #20), so this is exciting, and I love Johnny Depp! :D

I'm unsure of where you saw me make a judgement on the quality of the movie?

I don't see how it's being a shill to want people to go see the movie you're making, and to interact with fans. He hasn't signed up for Transformers 4 just yet.

It seems shill-ish to me the way he's pausing for presumed applause, and it's embarrassing when there is none. Also being in character while referring to his co-stars by their real names...the whole thing was awkward and embarrassing to me. That's my opinion on it. *shrug*

I agree. I think doing a fourth movie was a mistake, especially considering it honestly seems like a cash grab. Most of the supporting cast is gone, a new director is being brought in... I'm trying to think of good fourth installments and none spring to mind. Unless you want to consider X-Men Origins: Wolverine...

STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME.

(Aka, "the one with the whales.")

There are people who really like THUNDERBALL, too, although, personally, it's not my favorite Bond movie . . . .
