Pioneer One, is the new SciFi series -without commercial breaks- to watch.

At least; I hope so!

An object in the sky spreads radiation over North America. Fearing terrorism, U.S. Homeland Security agents are dispatched to investigate and contain the damage. What they discover will have implications for the entire world.

The pilot episode didn't really do a lot for me, other than make me want to watch the next episodes of course (which is more than Persons Unknown has done) and I suppose that's a job well done.

Obviously it doesn't compare to the BIG network's BIG budget SciFis (the ones with actors we've seen hundreds of times before and lots and lots of CGI), but it is definitely watchable, interesting even, and, so far; hard SciFi. Find it here (Or search for it from your bit-torrent client).

As a blogger somewhere wrote:

/.../ this project is a very big deal, whether you’re a fan of the subject matter or not. If it’s successful Pioneer One could pave the way for a golden age of video storytelling — funded by fans, delivered by BitTorrent, all without any meddling by big media.

I watched the first few minutes. Terrific intro, terrible actors, clumsy exposition-larded dialogue. Couldn't tolerate more.

I'll take meddling big media, if this is the alternative. :rommie:

Oh Temis, and here I thought I adored your every thought with complete compunction.

This is a sad day.

Production cost them 5000 dollars to make the first episode of Pioneer One.

Taking that into account, it becomes a matter of genius that they got as much story across and on the tarmac as they did, and if you are old enough, which I believe you are to remember the red hysteria of being nuked in the 80s at a moments notice it is a reawakening of such fears that the Soviets remain firm, besides, it becomes worrying for me wondering where Pioneer two and three and four that Earth stands alone as the only non red planet.

That, and the blonde was gorgeous.
