Pics/Sketches of the Rocinante???

Nathan

I'm back reading the Vanguard books for the 2nd time...I've forgotten alot and prepping to enjoy the newest ones coming out.

Does anyone have a pic or sketch as to what the Rocinante looks like? I think I have a good idea but just wanted to know if anyone made a sketch of it.

Thanks.

Nate

^I don't think that's intended to be a literal image of the ship, just the closest thing available to what Dave had in mind. The Vanguard bible suggests that the Rocinante is basically that ship with fewer weapons and with Bussard-collector domes on the fronts of the engine pods.

Where did that name originate from? I seem to remember a planet with that name from the "Dirty Pair" comic book series...

Rocinante was Don Quixote's steed in the famous novel by Miguel Cervantez, after whom Cervantez Quinn was named.

^ Ahhhh. Did not know that. Thanks for the info.

Mack's hip enough to toss in a an old manga reference if he so desired, but I didn't know where the name actually originated from.

^ It's also a reference to the song "Cygnus X-1" by Rush, from their Hemispheres album. The song is about a pilot who flies his starship, the Rocinante, into a black hole.

Why am I not surprised that you referenced a Rush song...

^ It's not as if I've made a secret of the practice — nor have my Vanguard collaborators, Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore.
